Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh's official visit to Turkey - National Day ( 2nd September) celebrated.


From 21 - 25 August 2007, General Le Hong Anh, Politburo Member, Public Security Minister of Vietnam, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, paid an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart. The Turkish Interior Minister, Mr Osman Gunes warmly received and held talks with the delegation.
During his stay in Turkey, Minister Le Hong Anh had a meeting with Mr Abdullkadir Aksu, former Interior Minister and current member of Parliament; visited the National Police Headquarter, Police Academy of Turkey and Istanbul Police Center. The talks took place in a friendly and warm spirit. With the mandate from the two governments, Mr Le Hong Anh and Mr Gunes signed an agreement on crime combatting cooperation, which, accordingly the two sides, is focussed on fighting against various crimes (terrorism, drug trafficking, human smuggling), citizen protection, thus laying legal grounds for exchanges of information and experience in related fields, contributing to the safeguard of social security and order in each country respectively, making favourable conditions for further promotion of bilateral relations in trade, investment, tourism etc…
Meanwhile, on 22nd August, the Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey solemnly organized a Reception in celebration of Vietnamese National Day (2/9) and welcoming the high-ranking Delegation of the Ministry of Public Security while in town. Mr. Le Hong Anh, Mr. Osman Gunes and many officials from Turkish Government and Parliament as well as more than 300 guests from the diplomatic Corps, Turkish enterprises, friends, and some Vietnamese nationals who are living and studying in Turkey, participated at the Reception. Mr Le Hong Anh and Ambassador Nguyen Sy Xung warmly received and exchanged views with friends about the course of renewal, socio-economic development and investment opportunities in Vietnam.
Speaking at formal discussions as well as talking to guests and journalists at the Reception, Mr Gunes expressed his admiration towards heroic Vietnamese nation in the early wars for national independence as well as the present course of socio-economic construction and development and conveyed his sympathy to the Vietnamese people who are facing natural disasters. Mr Gunes happily realised that the Vietnam-Turkey relations are on rapid rise in many fields and commented that the recently concluded agreement will make important contributions to reinforcing and strengthening the multi-faceted relations between Turkey and Vietnam in the coming months and years.
